Single golfers
The most common way for a single to get on the Old Course is by going to the starter as early as possible in the morning. The starter will try to join the golfer with the first available 2 or 3 ball. Green fee is payable directly to the starter prior to play.

Daily Ballot
Around 50 per cent of all starting times over the year are put into the daily ballot (lottery) which is drawn every day for next day's play. The Saturday draw is for Monday play. Executive Golf & Leisure will be delighted to enter your party into the daily ballot and inform you of the results after 4pm prior to the day of requested play. Should you be successful in the daily ballot you simply pay the green fee directly to the starter prior to play.
Single golfers are not permitted to enter the daily ballot.

Handicaps
All golfers are required to check-in with the starter, located in front of the R&A Clubhouse. You will be required to produce a valid handicap certificate confirming that you have a handicap of 24 or less (Gents) or 36 or less (ladies). A representative of Executive Golf & Leisure will be on hand to ensure a smooth check-in and to assist with any last minute arrangements.

Caddies
Executive Golf & Leisure highly recommend the services of the local caddies. They will guide you round the unknown and undoubtedly be an asset to your final score. Caddie fees are approximately £40 plus a tip at your discretion. caddie fees should be paid in Pounds Sterling and paid directly to the caddie at the end of your round.
Executive Golf & Leisure can request caddies in advance on your behalf.
