The Open Championship is the oldest of the four majors in men’s golf and we are delighted to see the 138th Open Championship returning to the world renowned Ailsa Course, Turnberry, one of the finest links courses in Scotland.

The 2008 Open Championship at Royal Birkdale saw the Irish man, Padraig Harrington, battle the elements and stern competition to defend his Open Championship in style with a fine final round of one under par 69 to give him a four shot victory. Padraig is the first European to defend his title in 102 years.

The 138th Open Championship will run from 16th – 19th July 2009 and will be the events fourth visit to the Ailsa Course. The challenging Ailsa Course was the venue for the famous ‘Duel in the sun’ between Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson in 1977.
