The Old Course

St Andrews is world renowned as The Home of Golf but even without it's golfing heritage it would always be a must visit destination when in Scotland and for many golfers it is indeed a pilgrimage that must be undertaken.

Executive Golf and Leisure have been providing Old Course packages and St Andrews based golfing vacations for nearly thirty years and that experience ensures that we can secure tee times, book the most suitable accommodation and plan the best courses. We can also let you into some secrets about restaurants, pubs and retail therapy!

Location of St Andrews

The old town is located on the Fife Coast about an hour and fifteen minutes north of Edinburgh Airport and a further half hour to the centre of the capital city. Glasgow Airport is under two hours transfer.

St Andrews is a famous University town and the history of first class education goes back almost six centuries making the University the oldest in Scotland and the third oldest in the UK. Everywhere you walk in the town oozes history from the narrow streets and lanes there is another story and there are plenty of museums and art galleries to while away some very pleasant hours. The ruins of the old cathedral are breathtaking in themselves.

The beach in St Andrews is one of the finest stretches of sand in Scotland and was made famous in the Chariots of Fire movie.

The Golf Museum is located next to the Old Course and is well worth a visit with its interactive displays and unique artefacts detailing the history and timeline of golf in Scotland.

The Kingdom of Fife

St Andrews is perhaps the most famous reason for visiting Fife but the county is blessed with a wide range of attractions and activities, wonderful restaurants to stunning resort hotels. The coast of Fife is dotted with beautiful and historic fishing villages such as Lower Largo, Pitenweem, Anstruther and Crail and all are within a leisurely drive of St Andrews.

St Andrews as a Base

The town provides Executive Golf and Leisure with most of its accommodation choices in the area and St Andrews can be easily used as a base to play not only The Old Course (and its sister courses) but also Kingsbarns, Carnoustie and Gleneagles. Other lesser known golfing gems are in abundance including Crail or Scotscraig or the wonderful parkland layout at Ladybank.
