Lahinch golf Course is located in a small village on the west coast of Ireland and is undoubtedly one of the finest links courses in the world. Played by all the greats of the past, Lahinch is a must play course in the southwest region and can even count Phil Mickelson among its membership.
The origins of Lahinch Golf Club go back to the closing decade of the nineteenth century. Since the initial laying out of the links, various adjustments and improvements have been made over the years with Old Tom Morris' original work being adapted by Alister MacKenzie and then Martin Hawtree. The finished Martin Hawtree “restored MacKenzie course” at Lahinch has received world-wide acclaim and is now consistently ranked among the world’s greatest links courses.
Lahinch Golf Club has all the ingredients of greatness: a glorious setting, a rich history, superb natural terrain and, where man has 'intervened', it has been through the hand of an outstanding architect. It also has a pair of notorious blind holes, a ruined castle and goats that roam freely on the dunes.
